The Family Behind Machlao Studio
Hi there! We are the Winslow Family; a home schooling family and owners of Machlao Studio. I’m Abby, adoring wife to Corey and mother to two boys: an 11 year old and an 8 year old.
What Our Homeschool Journey Looks Like
Our homeschool journey began with much prayer and supplication to Father about what to do and how. He led me faithfully to the My Father’s World homeschool curriculum. And without wavering, we have used only this curriculum since our oldest was 5 years old. He is a GOOD Father and He knows exactly what my family needed. Thankful doesn’t begin to touch how I feel about this.
Why We Decided to Start a Family Business
For about 14 years, Corey and I have been foster (proctor) parents to troubled teens through a local non-profit organization called Connections365 (previously known as CCPC). This time has been coming to a close for a little over a year and we knew that Father was about to lead us in a new direction. So, a year ago we began learning all we could about how to start our own business. Because we want to use our passions and skills to make a positive impact.
How We Homeschool and Make Running Machlao Studio Work
On March 18th, 2018 our website Machlao.com went live and we launched our first collection of vinyl decals. Machlao Studio exists so that our customers can have their unique style reflected in their homes with captivating décor. This is only made possible with the flexibility and patience of our children and homeschooling schedule. My Father’s World is a fantastic fit with our homeschool and business-minded home.
To be sure, it hasn’t been easy. And I don’t have as many hours in a day as a mom who sends her children to school and has that time to work. But we make it work and I get to show my children what running a business is like. In essence, it’s an extension of their education.
Why We Started Machlao Studio
Machlao Studio was developed out of the pure desire to have the name of the Creator on my own walls. YHWH, or Yahweh had come into my knowledge through a path He led us down in 2012 to learn the deeper truths of scripture. Boy, did I find more than I was looking for!
Now, I want to use this prophetic name as often as I can because of the richness of its meaning. I then looked for home décor with this name and couldn’t find anything that was captivating. Or something that I would want to display. Therefore, these two pair well together: the desire for unique yet stunning décor and the hope for a business.
Machlao.com is now home of unique vinyl decals that apply like stickers, look like paint and can be removed with ease so your authentic style can be as captivating as you are. We love that we get to provide believers with many options so that their home décor can reflect their personal style.
