“Oregon students, grades K-6, are invited to submit original artwork about Oregon agriculture for the contest. We encourage students to use a lot of creativity and color in their artwork.

Every student who submits artwork receives a personalized certificate. The winning 13 students receive a $50 savings bond and their artwork will be published in the 2012-2013 school-year calendar. Honorable mention artwork is also selected and posted on AITC’s web site.

Artwork must be submitted by May 15, 2012. Judging will be completed by June 1. Calendars will be distributed to teachers on our mailing list in early September.”

Throughout his life, he chose to give in to temptation after temptation until he finally realized that thorns weren’t the only hedge given to protect him. You’ll learn and be moved by his journal entries as he reflects on his life and how God saved him.

Salem Classical Fencing is giving away one half-hour beginning private lesson to a student between the ages of 8-18. This offer is valid until August 31st, 2012.

Salem Classical Fencing works to bridge barriers in our community by teaching Honor, Chivalry, and Respect through the art and sport of fencing. We accomplish this mission through a variety of group classes, individual instruction, tournaments, demonstrations, and educational lectures at our facility and in the community. This next giveaway is from Horsemanship Instructor Nichole Bruntz. She is offering a free  one hour horsemanship lesson! This is a $20 value! She accepts students ages 7 and older. She’s willing to split the lesson between two students. So, if you have two children they can each receive a half-hour lesson!

Nichole is excellent with children! She is patient and very good at tailoring the lesson to a child’s learning style. In addition to teaching how to ride a horse, she teaches how to properly care for the horse and the equipment. The lessons take place in a covered arena and her schedule is pretty flexible.

If you are considering horsemanship lessons as a part of your child’s education, she offers weekly one hour lessons at only $20 a lesson! If you have two children and you want to split the weekly lesson at half an hour each child, that’s only $10 for each child!

What a temper our children can have at times! Isn’t it true for many of us? A wonderful book addressing this matter from a Biblical perspective is Helen’s Temper and Its Consequences by Mrs.George Gladstone. It’s geared toward children ages 6-11 years. However, we read it to our younger ones as well and the lessons in it are a good reminder for older children and adults too.
